Lando Norris has done it! The McLaren driver grabbed his first FIA Formula One World Championship after a tough third place at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. He beat out Max Verstappen by just two points, which was pretty close.

That whole season felt like a wild ride for him. He came back from being 104 points behind Verstappen at one point. Then there was this intense fight with his teammate Oscar Piastri all the way through. Some standout parts included that cool-headed win in Monaco. In the final race, he showed real guts with a double pass on Stroll and Lawson. He also held off Yuki Tsunoda's Red Bull pretty successfully when it mattered most.

The moment he crossed the line was pure emotion. "I didn't think I'd cry, but I did," the new champion confessed, dedicating the win to his family and the McLaren team, ending their 17-year title drought. Fellow drivers, including his former teammate Carlos Sainz, were quick to offer high praise, with Sainz calling him an "incredible driver" who proved you can reach the top while "staying true to yourself." A champion's story for the ages!
